Re: Project CJ 1 Ton
Here is the progress after tonight. Now I need to sell some of the stuff I got off of it that is taking up space in my garage and then rip out my axles.

I am going to go to PC this Sunday, then drop the jeep off to get the clutch done on Monday and once I get it back I will be working on swapping out the axles.

Re: Project CJ 1 Ton
New plans! The jeep is going to Sillyfab on Thursday to get the clutch done, axles put in and drivelines made.
Hopefully I will be oficially 1-ton in under 2 weeks.
I was going to swap the axles myself but since I tore down the Jimmy my garage is packed with parts!

Re: Project CJ 1 Ton
The 1 tons are in!!! I need to dump those 37's! I will soon be going with 42's with beadlocks. Also during all of this the Dana 20 was yanked and replaced with a Dana 300 with an AA adapter. The clutch looks good but the hydraulics might be messed up, we are just going to replace them.
I just need a D44 yoke and also a CV yoke for the Dana 300.

Re: Project CJ 1 Ton
Ok well new plans. I just pulled the rims and tires which are now for sale. Phil from SillyFab is going to be tearing apart the front and rear to stretch the front 4 inches and the rear 6 which will put me at 107". While at it we are going to lower it a good amount and then come the 42 Iroks with beadlocks.

Re: Project CJ 1 Ton
Lookin awesome man!! 107 is a good goal, it seems like ideal is between 100 - 110. How much are you going to lower it, with your uptravel and 42s i wouldnt think you could drop it much?

Right now it is like a wheelie machine, thats why I need the extra wheelbase. I am hoping to lower it 6 inches the most. The rear is going to get comp cut which will give it hopefully the same up travel. The down travel on this thing is ridiculous though. I will also be putting on bump stops. I am going to put the rear RE springs up front and then F150 springs in the rear.

I must have missed this post. My friend Phil is selling them for me on Pirate along with an brand new spare that still have the stickers on them. The tires have 90% tread and I will sell all 5 with rims for $1500 for GM members. Thats 275 a tire and 25 a rim each...

Re: Project CJ 1 Ton
Here is a side shot:
Here is a front/side shot:
Here is the rear:
I plan to remove the rear tire carrier, comp cut the rear and tube the rear portion of the frame to extend the wheelbase about 7 inches. Then chop all the crap off the front and remake all of that to stretch the front 3 inches, longer springs and give me a better approach angle.
What do you think?

Re: Project CJ 1 Ton
I dont plan on linking it. This setup flexes like crazy, I just need to extend it so it doesnt wheelie and then make it a lowrider!!

Re: Project CJ 1 Ton
It is going to go down very shortly. I have someone coming from the bay to buy the 37's that I have. I now need to find a pair of 42's because I want to make the build happen around the tires. It should be done within the next 3 weeks.

Re: Project CJ 1 Ton
So you're going to go to 42's and hope to lower it?? I'm assuming you're going with lower suspension to set the truck down more?

I am going to relocate the shackle mounts to lower the frame. Correct.
