Re: Briz Family Formula toy Build!!!!!
UPS dropped off Trail gear rear 4" springs for $299.00 shipped. I thought they came with bolts UGH!!! Now I have to find the metric 18mm bolts.
fastenal the best hands down nut and bolt suppler shiped right to your front door.
they are so nice the one I go to locally I got hooked up a couple times like really hooked up.
free bolts and little ones that were extrealy hard to find.
http://www.fastenal.com/web/products.ex?N=999600003+1199940535&Nty=0
their is a link to 18mm bolts take your pick and grade and prices really low all things considered. they got biggest nuts I have ever seen
hope that helps. your bolt finding needs with out using some rusty old ones or heck even get a grade 12 or more if the need the tensile strength. or testicular boldness (big nuts)

Re: Briz Family Formula toy Build!!!!!
So I ended up just ordering bolts from trail gear. $48 for 4 bolts and 4 nuts.
Napa quoted me $20 per bolt. Sometimes you have to just take it like a man I guess.

FAB ON!!!
Took the springs down to just the main leaf to compress the suspension and check for clearances and found my main leaf snapped in half under the ubolt plate. Kinda scary I have no idea how long it has been like this.
[img][/img]
After compressing the suspension We located the motor into its new home. Went back 9" and down about an 1". I still need to box the bottom portion of the motor mount and gusset the top of the frame but its in.
[img][/img]
[img][/img]
Got the front range xmember plate installed. Still tossing around ideas for crossmember. Anyone have any close up pics of how you attached to the center plate?
[img][/img]
Started to mock up the rear inboard spring hangers. Right now they are centered at 29". Can I go any more than that or will I get to much body roll. I am very confused as to where I should mount the hangers on this long bed frame. I want to run the C style shackle over the rear cross member. What is the easiest way to mount the rear springs to figure the proper shackle angle and ride height?. I am running rears up front with 4" trail gear rears.

Re: Briz Family Formula toy Build!!!!!
looking good you might as copper man what shackles he ran on his 4runner because those custom piece really mad some deference in spring drop and it also keep the ride height at a reasonable center of gravity!!!
but I have to admit I personal don't now about what the best mock up is for your axle!! are you also mesering your wheel base to keep that at a con-stain or you expanding it or shorter to get into tighter spaces??
I think its just personal preference or what makes you more stable!! ??
talk to you later.

Re: Briz Family Formula toy Build!!!!!
I think the motor is in the right location. I have cycled the suspension to ensure I get the most up travel and droop without interfering with the motor or draglink.
Tomorrow I hope to build my tcase xmember/mount. Build front bumpstop mounts and possibly tack rear suspension.

Running round rear shaft, with square front until I can afford to build a round front. Not sure if the lengths will be the same.
