Measuring for a front square driveshaft
This formula only works if the shackle is on the rear of the front spring.
This is how I figure out how long a front square driveshaft can be.
Too long and you will break off your transfer case when you compress.
Too short and it will not balance out as well, and will also rattle more.
Both pieces must be equal length to get maximum travel out of shaft during droop.

I think that is great and all but it is just as easy to measure fully compressed and divide by two. Cut the two pieces that length weld to yokes.
