GreaseMonkey4x4 Annual Run??
Whaddya'll think about picking a central place, where we can start an annual run? I was thinking Hollister, because it's kinda centrally located... any other suggestions? Ideas? Input? I'd say late spring early summer would be a good time. It's no fun when it's raining out there

Re: GreaseMonkey4x4 Annual Run??
Even if everyone doesn't have a rig, Hollister is about the right size for a big bash... we can do a big bbq and maybe even get our decals/etc goin...
The Decals most likely won't start till next year, but this year would be a good start/trial run

Plus you can camp overnight.
Plus if you break there is not a huge recovery headache (unless you break in Tank or Jungle)
Plus you pull your tow rig straight up to your camp!
Plus Dave will BBQ for all of us!

Sounds good! The latter dates above is usually when the "Mud-n-yer Eye" event is held if they are still doing that. This I know cause it's also wifey's birthday so that date still sucks for me to go... Otherwise...

The odds of it raining on the same weekend 2 years in a row are pretty slim though.

April is the worst time....
Moab, Johnson Valley have a couple of events that most people plan for every year.
Where will the run go? Fordyce, Rubicon, Moonrocks, Bronco Cannon?

We were thinking about Hollister, because it is kinda centrally located for any of or So-cal pals that want to attend. You can camp and wheel and still be close enough to camp to fix. BUT, rain and hollister don't mix in a rock buggy. I would just as soon not even go if it's wet.

Rain doesn't scare me, now my wife will be pissed at me. She will make me take her to the closest hotel until I can provide her a dry and warm space.
Isn't there a trail outside of Fresno. Just an idea. But again, I haven't been to Hollister and it could be a lot of fun.

Re: GreaseMonkey4x4 Annual Run??
Yeah I think Dusy is out of Fresno area Hollister is loads of fun. More dirt and mountain trails than rocks though. When it's dry it's loads of fun, but when it's wet, you have to be a mud lover to go and enjoy it. Heck, I'd take my ford out there any day, but my Migo wouldn't make it far at all if it were muddy.

The 'Con is one of the first places everyone thinks of when they start planning a trip. Well, I figure almost all our other trips and get togethers are at the 'Con.... so we'd do something different.
