I want to build another FTOY so bad!!!!!!!!

Damn I just saw a picture of my old rig ftoy # 27. Every time I think about it I cringe and think you dumb ass! If I could only think of a way to start another build. I pretty much only need a chassis, seats, and an ok from my family. I want to do a four seater this time for my kids. Well maybe someday! Here is old BETSY!!!

Damn RJ you got me thinkn! If I got all of the parts, steel, tools all set up ahead of time I think it could be done in 1 to 2 weekends.

remove body from frame
cut off body mounts and other unwanted steel
clean frame
build new motor mounts and move motor back
build flatbelly cross member
mount chassis onto frame
inboard rear springs or 4 link
build floor/ seat mounts
mount pedals/ steering/ brake booster/ master cyl/ misc fire wall items/ radiator
cut down wiring harness
fuel cell
plumbing/ electrical

watcha guys think? That would get it going and I could add to it later.

Here is how u sell the wifey

1. Lexan windshield
2. Go to an upholstry shop and have a removable top made with doors about 850.00
3. Install heated seat covers
4. Plub a rear heater in from a 90;s runner
5. Roof top tent

Seats, PRP has professional heated seats that are installed under the covers. A friend is looking at getting a mass buy for them. A lot of people are interested in these.

Wifey is sold. I just need to get 1500 for the chassis and figure out time and location for the build up. I would really like to make it street legal. Lexan windshield with old school land cruiser wiper blades, lights, removable fender flares that attach to the steering arms off of a tractor. Drive an ftoy to get grocery's. SICK!!!!

What you going to do for a fuel tank? Are there some pre made now for that ?

I think my landlord had a fuel cell in the attick that will work. I will see how much?

let me know what I can do. You want me to get a work weekend going. I can get some folks to help that would love to show up just for the experience and friends.

I am not sure if i want to get the formula four chassis or the regular chassis.
Regular chassis is 152" long with a wheelbase of 105-112. $1295.00. you can fit a rear seat but it is very tight.

Formula 4 chassis is stretched 12" through out the chassis. minimum wheelbase of 114". $1495.00. you can fit 4 full size bucket seats.
I want to run 39.5 iroks. or 37" krawler stickys.
I would have to stretch my existing frame 12"+ - or find a long bed frame to run the formula 4 chassis.
This going to be a family rig that needs to seat 2 adults and 2 small children.
I think i am leaning towards the formula 4 chassis. What do you guys think?

do it....and remember the little ones are gonna grow up sooner or later so the extra room will be helpful later oh yea DO IT....

Good point oldyellercj. I think the 4 seater ftoy fosho. I have been pricing out suspension seats. cheapest i found is 200.00 a seat. OUCH!!!!!! Hunsuker seats. I might do a rear bench as long as I canfit 2 car seats comfortably and maybe 2 adults uncomfortably!!!! I need to figure out a fuel cell that doesn't take up alot of room. Diapers take up a ton of room on a weekend trip. LOL Need room for an ice chest, tools, family stuff. maybe a roof rack like lilbrnc's.
