matt for future slider installs you should plate the frame. when i installed mine i welded every thing up on the ground then i welded the sliders on all i had to do was weld the plates to the frame. i just think it is easier to weld flat plate to the frame as opposed to round tube. but gor gussets just make some triangle pieces out of some 1/4 stock and weld onto the tubes and frame

yup. I just cut some triangles out of 1/4" steel with a 90* angle, one side longer than the other, and welded the long side to the tube, and the short side to the frame. If I ever do it again though, I'm going to plate it, with a diamond shaped plate.

I plated my tubes with 3/8" plate that was nearly as tall as the frame. I welded the bars to the plates first then welded it as an assembly to the frame. No problems yet! Cool

At least install the gussets. I welded my slider on to the frame with out the plates. I have used a hi-lift jack on the sliders & have seen them flex while lifting it. Now I have to install the gussets that came with the sliders.

Good deal So I need about 9 or 10 inches of 3/8ths thick by 3 inch wide flat stock or so should be just about enough for some gussets. I can manage that. should be easy enough to weld in.

I would mount the gussets on the top side at a " V " It's going to be tight to weld cause the body is close. I have never tried it but maybe you can loosen the front body mounts & remove the rest of the cab body bolts & jack the cab up as high as you can to get some extra room to weld, or tilt the cab to one side & weld it. If you try this, remember to check under the hood so you don't crush anything.

If you're thinking about a body lift this is the time to install it as well! Cool

Yeah I welded mine on the same way. Looking back I wish I had welded the frame tubes onto square pieces of steel, but oh well. I plan on cutting some half inch steel into some triangles and welding them on both the left, the right and the top of each tube connecting to the frame to strengthen it up. that is the best way to go now that they are already welded on

I have already cut the metal I just need to weld them on but I went with 1/4 inch flatstock and I am going to put a plate on the frame rail and a triangle off of that to the slider I think the plate should add some extra beef to the frame. ack

OK Gusseted and ready to roll. There is a a piece of flat stock on the frame and then the gusset from that to the slider.
