tips and tricks 7.3 non turbo

anyone have any tips or tricks on making my stinky truck go faster up hill. I went to reno and it was like 35 mph up the huge hills. It was about 40mph when i floored it b4 i hit the hill.

get a turbo gap


I'd open it up a bit. Aftermarker air filter, exhaust, etc. Do you have a cat on it? If you do, dump it, you don't need it.

Thats one of the big problems with those non-turbo 7.3s They've got power for days, but aren't exactly stellar in the speed department. I don't know if they make controllers for those engines, but that may be something worth looking into pricey though sad

put a cummins in it
i pulled to moonrocks over 65-70 mph the hole way

If and when I could afford a turbo I have heard people saying that you need to rebuild the motor if you have alot of miles????

Your engine is mechanical, no electronic controls. About the only thing you can do is turn the pump up a bit to give it more fuel, get a free flowing intake & open up the exhaust some.
