87 Runner

Post by Tallchevy350 on Fri Dec 21, 2007 2:42 am

My Runner has an SAS & 63's in the rear that fordh8r & I did New Years eve weekend since we had nothing better to do lol! Currently it has a Sky front hanger moved forward 1" & boomerang shackles with Alcan 5.5" springs that are 1.5" longer than stock, Marlin u-bolt flip kit, Sky x-over steering, Marlin 14" shock hoops Rancho 9000's in the front. The rear has 63" Chevy's with Chevy u-bolts as a u-bolt flip kit, a Chevy lowering shackle flipped as a lift shackle attached to a drop shackle, custom rear shock mounts with Rancho 9000's. I have a 2" block to level it out since the front was higher than expected. Front axle has a Quik Loc in the front w/open rear & 5.29 Yukon gears front & rear. 2" body lift to help clean Marlin sliders. Custom rear bumper with trailer hitch & D-rings. Square tube front d-line, 12,000lb Warn winch mounted in the front. Bikini top for the summer time & a cheesy thrown together hitch mounted spare tire carrier.

Coming soon & not in order
1. Finish front winch mount bumper
2. Rears up front & lower the height by about 2"
3. Remove the rear block
4. Dual cases (both with 2.28 for now)
5. 3rd row seat cause I have a family of 6 & everyone wants to go wheeling
6. Some sort of cage for the rear passengers
7. Extend the soft top to the rear when 3rd row seat gets installed

I think thats enough for now Very Happy

I'll posts pic's when I figure it out.

Carrier works good but it was a quick temp for MCR. I knew we didn't have room for the 35" spare & our camping gear NO

Update:
I started changing the interior from blue to grey. No pic's of the upgrade yet cause I'm not done. I still have to change the dash pad.

Next I did RUF.

Here is the first set up. Axle was only 3/4" forward.

Here is the RUF set up. A noticable difference.

Poser shot

I still have to relocate the shock hoops & build bump stops.

Thanks! I made some plates to weld to the frame before I install the shock hoops. I hope to get that installed tonight. I also have to install a steering stablizer cause of the death wobble. More to come but these will be first.
