wj information

hey guys I am I die hard snowboarder. and just got a newer 2001 wj.

here is my ?'s I am looking into getting a rock/skid plate that located under the transfercase. and its powercoated black.

My Idea is that if I have this on my jeep and going snowboarding the sand ice snow slussy crap will not get as much stuff all over my transercase and keep my trans/some drivetrain cleaner and less likey to ware out premucherly maybe even prevent a little rust on everything under the vechical.

but the wj will not every even see a rock much less be a rock sliding on the t-case.

wast of money or a good idea. skid plate about $100.

hope you guys don't flame me for not going off road with my daily driver/snowmoblie rig.

Jeremi, I would think that your tcase/etc would be more apt to corrode/rust if you put the skidplate under it... I would think it would hold more moisture in, rather than drying once you're out of the hills. Just a thought.... I'd say invest in that roof rack, lift and tires before you go and do the skidplate anyway

If you're really not going to be wheeling it, its a waste of $$. Its just another place to hold snow and ice buildup.

Just hose the underside off when you get home

more thoughts about lift kits for the Mall crawler.

I was thinking of an old man emu. kit 3.5 in lift. for about $600

because I am really not going to ever rock crawl it and I dont what to spend 1,400 on tera flex kit with lot of welding arms and cutting brackets and redoing steering. but it would be nice for the snow and just look cooler than stock. with a small lift and some nice 32" tires.

one thing that conserds me is my flame ? of the day.
is that really going to kill my mpg?
I get an ave about 15.5 mpg now. driving at a resonble speeds.

thinking of getting k&n intake kit or airaid kit with throttle body spacer its says incressing gas miles. but the more power you have the harder it is to keep your foot out of it.

super chips offers a programer for my Jeep I might need to get that to recalibrate my speedmeter for 32" tires. do you people think I should get lift and tires first or programer and intake kit?
