I wanted to go with 1350 style this time and contacted Drive Line specialties for a quote. They said "around $500." So, the mission to find something that was more affordable.

I ended up finding a guy that advertises on E-Bay and contacted him. Basically, I got a brand new shaft as quoted up above for $325 and free shipping. I will post pics when I get mine. You can contact Curtis at (801) ...

A BASIC GUIDE OF ARC WELDING ELECTRODES

by Bruce Bauerlein

INTRODUCTION

There are many different types of electrodes used in the shielded metal arc welding, (SMAW) process. The intent of this guide is to help with the identification and selection of these electrodes.

ELECTRODE IDENTIFICATION

Arc welding electrodes are identified using the A.W.S, (American Welding Society) numbering system and are made in sizes from 1/16 to 5/16 . An example would be a welding rod identified as ...

Old thread's from PBB ( requested by BLINGN )

in short, get a high amp GM alt (100.00 ), ground base to frame or use mounts, field wire ( usually green ) goes to switched 12V (this activates the field when turned on), red positive goes to your + welding lead. Easy easy... I also used a hand throttle and electric fan to control amps and overheating.

It was a little difficult to use at first but after playing with a couple of different bends, I found it very useful. The best thing about it is, it really takes a lot out of the guess work and math when just bending tube.

So I have been toying around with the idea of selling the CJ5. It only has a 12 bolt rear and a 10 bolt front. I want either 1 ton running gear under it or something with 1 ton. Also the jeep does not break the best and will need a clutch soon. Obviously all of this I can fix but I was just offered 6k for the jeep.

Should I sell it and along with my taxes get something that I already want? Or should I just put that money into making the jeep what I want...

I am soo indecisive! ...

I even have a nice groover, borrowed from a friend. But I am one hour in to the first tire and have about 15 minutes left on it. It is not that difficult just time consuming.

This formula only works if the shackle is on the rear of the front spring.

This is how I figure out how long a front square driveshaft can be.

Too long and you will break off your transfer case when you compress.

Too short and it will not balance out as well, and will also rattle more.

Both pieces must be equal length to get maximum travel out of shaft during droop.
